Video Games and its Affect on Teenagers.

As a young teenager, playing violent shooting games and high graphic and explicit gaming is what the media shows through the games that brands make. For Example, Call of Duty has affected many teenagers due to its graphic content and real life action with guns and shooting other players. This affects a teenagers mind and causes them to think about how they could do this in real life, or would like to try it some day because, at this young age, teens do not know that life isn't a video game were we can respawn after we die. Once we are shot and bleed out, our lives are ended and sorrows occur in the process of teenagers going on rampages and shooting on campuses and even outside of school. Some messages that are shown through video games is that they create a risk factor for criminal minds and violent terrorist acts. They create a strong aggression and criminal behavior because of the many guns that are used that affect a teenagers mind because they are still growing and this affects them dearly because whatever happens in the game, they aspire to one day do that too. Teenager's actions tend to thrive off of emotional stress and they can't control their emotions because most teenagers are in the learning process and are hot-headed all the time. Most of the video games have adventure and the thrill of destroying other people in hand to hand combat and with all of this use of violence, it is only a matter of time until teenagers begin to also try out these stunts and hurt themselves. I believe that the media is at fault because they are just strengthening the reason for teenagers to act in this way. If violent video games weren't advertised and sold, teenagers would generally act more polite and not as aggressive as they are now. Images are accurate because most of these war games are warlike features and show real-life ways of murdering other human beings. I predict that the media will bring an even stronger hold on teenagers through the video games and this will cause more trouble and maybe even deaths through violence of emotionally hurt teenagers. Comment down below about your own opinion about video games affecting teenagers highly and remember to "Stay Frosty My Friends" and I'll be back shortly.

  1. I agree Dillon. The amount of violent video games the average teenager plays seems to have an effect on their grip of reality. Soon, these kids that have grown to love this graphic material will want to have more and more. They commit violent acts and join the army still thinking it's just a game. That's why I had to stop playing these games because I was afraid of doing something like that. Good post by the way.

  3. While I agree that violent video games are bad for children, most children have enough common sense to know that is not real and that is horrible in real life, as you can respawn after you die in games, but you cant respawn in real life. It is also a parenting issue as children should not have this game as it is rated mature for people 17 and up, and parents are exposing these images to them.
